OHHS Marching Band: Lebanon Recap

Posted on: September 30, 2019 10:00 am
The OHHS Marching Band is proud to announce having taken 1st place in our class and 3rd place overall out of 15 bands at Saturday's Lebanon Invitational. It was an extremely tight finish and we are so proud of our incredibly hard-working students and the immense progress they’re making.

Several special mentions include:
•1st overall in Music General Effect, our first time ever winning this caption.

•2nd overall in Total Music (combination of Music Performance and Music General Effect captions), finishing a mere 0.65 points behind the event’s grand champion.

•A 7-point increase in Visual Performance and 18-point increase in Visual General Effect over our 9/14 Taylor Premiere scores.

•A 7-point increase in Auxiliary (Color Guard) and 11-point increase in Percussion over our 9/14 Taylor Premiere scores.

•Oak Hills finished with a total score of 73.5, up from 65.1 on 9/14. For comparison, the event’s Reserve Grand Champion (2nd place) finished with a 74.0, and the Grand Champion (1st place) finished with a 74.75.

Another big thank you to the faculty, staff, alumni, friends & family who came out to support this fantastic group of students.

We next compete on 10/12 at Mason HS. This will be a huge event with 23 bands scheduled to compete. Mason event details can be found here: https://www.masonbands.com/events/
