Congratulations to Oak Hills High School student Sam Weidner, who just received news that he was selected as a delegate for the JDRF 2019 Children’s Congress! This summer Sam will have the opportunity to serve as an advocate for the T1D community, meet with lawmakers and represent the JDRF Southwest Ohio JDRF chapter on Capitol Hill.

Sam applied for this prestigious honor at the end of 2018 and had to submit essays about his journey with T1D and his desire to help find a cure. He was selected from over 1,000 applicants and will travel with about 100 other young people with T1D to Washington, D.C. this summer as an ambassador of the Southwest Ohio chapter.

We look forward to following his story this summer!
