TO-KNOW

1. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
   1. Let's get this week started off right! Please plan on enjoying some Munchkins, iced coffee and/or juice on Monday morning. It will be in the faculty lounge.
   2. And let's keep it going! Please feel free to enjoy wearing jeans (or shorts, if it's hot!) all week long as a token of my appreciation. :)
   3. PTA will also have some treats throughout the week including fruit, veggies and Servatii's pretzels on Monday, Panera bagels on Tuesday, Chik-fil-a lunch on Wednesday, and cookies on Thursday!
2. I will be out of the building on multiple occasions this week and next. All times are noted below and also listed on the staff calendar. I will be available by phone and email on all days.
   1.  This week, I will be out Monday afternoon (beginning at 2pm), Tuesday afternoon (beginning at 11:45am), and most of the day on Thursday. I will have coverage on Thursday, as I will be out during testing. I am still working on who that will be and will let you know.
   2. Next week, I anticipate being out of the building all day on Monday and Tuesday, as I participate in OHEA negotiations. Emily Winkle and Brian Conners will be working together to cover for me on those days. Again, my choice in substitutes is based on who is available and is in no way related to the search for my replacement!
3. Our May faculty meeting, scheduled for this week, is canceled. I will reschedule if needed.
4. I am still waiting on details for our Friday, May 5 professional day. I will share locations and agendas once I have them.
5. Some end-of-year calendar updates/reminders:
   1. Friday, May 12 is Enrichment Day. The parent organizers will be getting me a schedule soon, which I will share with you.
   2. Thursday, May 18 is Track and Field Day and the Volunteer Luncheon. I am working on a donation from Jimmy John's for the luncheon. The manager sounded very interested but I haven't been able to get a final commitment yet. We will still need to collect donations for the luncheon but will wait until I hear back from Jimmy John's to determine what we need. Stay posted!
   3. Friday, May 19 (the last day of school!) we will have Move Up Day and our Closing Ceremony. Some timing details below: 

      1. Move Up Day: 5th Grade will have specials from 8:35 - 10:00. 4th Graders move to 5th Grade at 9:05. Each subsequent grade moves every few minutes. Kindergarten graduation is taking place in the gym so EJ will take students outside or stay in classrooms if raining. Kindergarten and 1st Grade will arrange a separate day for kindergarteners to move up.

      2. Closing Ceremony: Will begin at 2pm, with 5th graders leaving classrooms to pick up each class. We will have a group in the office singing the gathering song over the PA so that all grade levels can hear their progress. 

TO-DO

1. Tuesday is Election Day! Please VOTE if you live in the District and encourage your friends and neighbors to vote as well. More details about Election Day have been sent to personal email accounts.
2. Teachers: There are two things to do to finalize the year in terms of OTES. Please let me know if you have questions.
   1. By the end of this week, I will put a hard copy of your final summative rating worksheet from eTPES in your mailbox. Please sign and return to Cyndi (she will have an envelope you can place them in). I will then get you a copy for your records.
   2. Please enter your PIN on all entries in eTPES by the end of the week.
