• Thank you for making the first two days a positive experience! I believe that we are going to have a great year.

• Congratulations to the following recipients of OHAEF grants this year: Berting (2nd & 3rd Grade Musicals); Ernst/Wuestefeld (SMASH); Kautz (5th Grade Dye Shirts); Niehaus/Bertke (Annual Science Festival); Phillips (Literacy Night). In total Springmyer was awarded $2,930.

• There have been some big changes to the Yearly Planning Calendar (Link) following our PTA meeting. MOst of the changes relate to End-of-Quarter Celebrations.

• A few words from Building Maintenance/Safety: 1) If you have holes in your window screens please let Sarah know. We will attempt to repair or replace these screens. 2) If you have a fan in your room with a damaged “Face Covering” that has a whole big enough for someone to put their finger in it must be removed from the classroom. This is a safety violation. 3) Mr. Beckemeyer was in the building and identified a number of rugs that must be removed from classrooms. If a rug is “tattered,” fraying, unraveling, or if it is missing edging it is not allowed in the classroom because it is a safety hazard.

• Teachers Grades K-2: K-2 science teachers should still be using Picture Perfect Science, a great literature connection.  Please check and let me know if you need a packet with the lessons for your grade-level. Here is the order and lessons for science standards that was created by teachers.  Many of teachers did not order anything at the end of last year.  If you are in need of science supplies, please complete the Picture Perfect Science reorder.

• Please make sure you are reviewing the Beginning Checklist 17-18 and accomplishing the tasks outlined within. If you have questions please let me know.

• Teachers on the top floor (200s). While it is warm, when you leave please keep your windows open and doors open. This will help to cool down the top floor in the evening and hopefully make the mornings more bearable.

• If you are in need of science supplies (Grades K-2) , please complete the Picture Perfect Science reorder.

• If you notice a problem with connectivity within your classroom please let me know so I can arrange adjustments to the network.

• If you have a positive news story that you would like to share let me know. You can also submit the story to Emily buckley for coverage (Link)

• Let Sarah know if you have a damaged screen in your classroom.

• Let Mark Know if you have any needs related to computer carts (add or remove) prior to September 1st.
