• THIS IS SPRINGMYER! Sorry about saying Delshire on the announcements on Wednesday. Old habits ….

• Please join me in welcoming Pattie Asebrook, our new Instructional Assistant, and a former Springmyer student. Pattie will be working with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. If you see her in the building please say hello and help to make her feel welcome.

• Thank you to K-2 teachers, and others, for doing an excellent job at the Curriculum Night on  8/22/2017. It was a late night but filled with very valuable parent contact and information.

• While walking in the hallway I noticed how many students have received Sparky Tickets during the first weeks of school. Awesome job. Keep working to recognize positive behaviors. That is so important during these first few weeks of school.

• Please remember to close windows today so that the crew can spray the back of the building.

• New testing dates and windows have been added to the Planning Calendar (link). The Advisory Committee will begin working on identifying specific dates for testing at their next meeting.

• I have had the opportunity to “visit” almost every classroom. Starting on the 28th I will begin doing “Informal Walkthroughs” in classrooms. This will give me the opportunity to better get to know your students and your classroom.

• Teachers please begin your OTES Growth plans. When you have finished please schedule a time to meet with me.

• If you  were planning to use Learning Farm this year please let me know as soon as possible. It is my understanding that most teachers wanted to move away from this product because it was filled with too many games. Just let me know.

• Let me know if you are interested in a student teacher (Grades 1-2).

• If you didn’t get a copier code please let me know.

• Please make sure you are reviewing the Beginning Checklist 17-18 and accomplishing the tasks outlined within. If you have questions please let me know.

• If you have a positive news story that you would like to share let me know. You can also submit the story to Emily buckley for coverage (Link)

• Don’t forget to join the PTA!

• Have you contributed to the Sunshine Committee yet?
