• Please join me in welcoming Kyle Hilbert to the Springmyer Family. Kyle will be our new VARtek technician. He should be here multiple times during each week to support our technology needs.

• THANK YOU to Jen Murphy and Lindsey Black for doing an outstanding job hosting the Reading Lab Lesson on Thursday. It went really really well.

• THANK YOu to the PTA for the Puppet Assembly on Thursday. It was really fun. Meow!

• 3rd Grade AIR ELA Scores will be released some time on December 18th. As in years past, we will be providing certain identified students (i.e., Students that are at risk for retention due to the TGRG) with Focused Reading Tutoring following the return of these test scores.  If you are interested please send me an email. Below you will find criteria for eligibility to tutor:

• Instructional aides must meet criteria in order to participate:

• Full Time IA’s : including the hours from this program, may not work over 40 hours per week, or

• Part Time IA’s:  including hours from this program, may not reach the 30 hour work week where benefits begin to be awarded

• Instructional aides earn their current hourly rate

• OHLSD teachers are paid $30 per hour outside of contract hours

• Tutors will complete time cards for payment.  

• The district has decided, following the pilot, to begin using Edulastic as the primary data management system for Common Assessments.  Training to use this product will begin on January 3rd.

• Matt Page put together a great document with resources related to Mathematics (Link). You might find this helpful.

• Preview of coming attractions: There will be a fire drill on 12/14; Grades 3, 4, 5 Tier ⅔ meetings on 12/15; Skating Party 12/18; STAT day 12/19; Spelling Bee 12/21 (1:00); End of Quarter 12/22; High School Holiday Concert in gym 12/22 (1:00-1:45 Room Parents are allowed in rooms for set-up at 1:00); Holiday Parties 2:00 on 12/22.
