• Five more days until the Winter Break!

• Earlier today I sent out a “Learners Welcome” Survey (Link). I would appreciate it if you would provide me with feedback prior to  January 12th.

• Thank you for participating in the color activity during the staff meeting. If you attended and haven’t completed the survey here it is (Link). If you didn’t attend the meeting and you would like to know more please just let me know.  I will be sharing percentages once everyone has completed the activity. With 20 responses turned in here is how we stand as a staff:

• Continuous Improvement 25%

• Stable Environment 15%

• HIgh Expectations 10%

• We will be starting the Read-A-Thon on January 16th! Please see the following document for more details (Link).

• Since cold weather has finally found us I wanted to present to you a Specials Schedule in case we have a two hour delay. I attempted to give grade-levels the longest instructional times possible without interruption and wanted to give students time to get back to classes and pack-up. The result is that we would fit classes into 25 minute class periods. Please see below:

• 1st 12:40-1:05

• 2nd 1:55-2:20

• 3rd 2:20-2:45

• 4th 1:30-1:55

• 5th 1:05-1:30

• 3rd Grade AIR ELA Scores will be released some time on December 18th. As in years past, we will be providing certain identified students (i.e., Students that are at risk for retention due to the TGRG) with Focused Reading Tutoring following the return of these test scores.  If you are interested please send me an email. Below you will find criteria for eligibility to tutor:

• Instructional aides must meet criteria in order to participate:

• Full Time IA’s : including the hours from this program, may not work over 40 hours per week, or

• Part Time IA’s:  including hours from this program, may not reach the 30 hour work week where benefits begin to be awarded

• Instructional aides earn their current hourly rate

• OHLSD teachers are paid $30 per hour outside of contract hours

• Tutors will complete time cards for payment.
