TO-KNOW

  • Class Picture day is coming. Here is the sign-up (Link)

  • I wanted to thank you for the feedback you provided on the Growth Survey. I wanted you to know that I have been chewing on that and working to set personal goals. If you are interested, I have a student survey that would be appropriate for 4-5 that you could use with students for your own information.

  • As part of the new Gifted Standards, teachers will be asked to complete a “Creative Thinking” Checklist for certain students during March. Training will be provided during the March 12th Inservice Day.

  • There will be some big changes to the School Report Card next year.  Here is a summary:

    • Chronic absenteeism indicator will be added. Chronic Absenteeism is defined as missing at least 10 percent of the school year for any reason- excused or unexcused. (State average was 16.4% last year- the target this year will be 13.6%. Oak Hills district average was 11%)

      • We will be meeting as a district to develop strategies to improve how attendance is managed.

    • Progress Components will be calculated using 3 years of data.

    • AMO measurement will be calculated differently. It will now use performance index for subgroups instead of Percent Proficient or above. This will probably improve our AMO Scores.

  • The new code system for printing (Paper Cut) will go into effect 2/20/2018. Oakdale has already starting using this system as a pilot. We will have support to recover Teacher Pins during the first week. Look at your email and check Jeff Eichelberger email which has your pin.

  • Calamity Days. According to the Board of Education after 5 days staff will have to make-up days. We are at 4 days (8th, 12th, 16th, and 27th) right now.
