TO-KNOW

  • Next week looks like a really crazy week! Please pay close attention to the calendar below. You will notice during the week that I have several Spanish Immersion events on my calendar. Remember that this is my effort to stay informed and anticipate possible future needs. This is not an indication of a definite arrival of Spanish Immersion at Springmyer.

  • Kindergarten Registration will take place on March 14th and 15th from 4:00-6:30. If you are willing to be an assessor that evening or help with managing the event please let me know.

  • We will try to have a Fire Drill some day this week based on the weather. Hopefully we get a good dry day.

  • IMPORTANT: During the week of January 22nd Grade-Levels will be receiving training related to administration of the IOWA Assessment. Training will take place during planning times. I will give you the exact date once the trainers have given them to me.  Prior to that week please do the following if you will be administering the assessment (2nd, 3rd, 4th grade teachers, Instructional Assistants, Special education)”

    • Earlier this year, all teachers should have received an email from [email protected] that prompted them to create an account.

    • Make sure you have created your account through riversidedatamanager.com.  

    • Bring your computer to the training

  • IOWA and CogAT dates are being developed. I’ll give you more information once training has happened.  

    • 2nd grade will be administering CogAT and IOWA on paper

    • 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade will be administering the CogAT or IOWA online

    • Paper materials will be ponied to your buildings on Friday, January 19

    • At this time the dates are as follows:

      • 2/5/2018  2nd Grade CogAT

      • 2/8/2018  3rd Grade CogAT

      • 2/9/2018 4th IOWA Part #1

      • 2/12/2018 4th Grade IOWA Part #2

      • 2/13/2018 2nd Grade IOWA Part #1

      • 2/14/2018 2nd Grade IOWA Part #2

      • 2/15/2018 IOWA/CogAT Make-ups

  • We will be starting the Read-A-Thon through the end of  January! Please see the following document for more details (Link).

Monday

1/22

  • John Beckemeyer will be in the building in the morning conducting the :rescheduled” Building Wishlist Walkthrough.

  • IOWA/COgAT Training  2nd Grade 12:45

  • IOWA/COgAT Training 4th Grade 1:30
   

Tuesday

1/23

  • STAT Day

  • I will be attending a Spanish Immersion District Discussion in the morning (First thing)

  • IOWA/COgAT Training 3rd Grade 9:15

  • 1st Grade Literacy Demo Lesson at Delshire (Spetrino will represent). 2:00

  • I will be meeting with representatives from Right At School and Cincinnati Public at the end of the day in my office.

  • This was the night we had originally been scheduled for Parent Teacher Conferences. Due to our attendance at Open House and Activities Fair Conference Night is Cancelled.
   

Wednesday

1/24

  • The Library will be closed for Literacy Meetings in the morning until lunch time.

  • There will be a literacy Demo Lesson in Jen Murphy's Classroom. Janette and Jen will be representing 5th grade. 8:00-10:10

  • There will be a literacy Demo Lesson in Sarah Bertke’s room. Sarah and Amanda will be representing 2nd grade. 10:15-11:45

  • THere will be a Literacy Demo Lesson at JFD in 1st Grade. Emma will be representing 1st SPG. 1:00-3:00.

  • We will try to hold a Lock-Down Drill in the afternoon.

  • I will be attending a Spanish Immersion Parent Meeting in the evening.
   

Thursday

1/25

  • I will be attending a Spanish Immersion debriefing meeting in the morning (first thing).

  • I will be attending KEEP Progress meeting at Oakdale at the very end of the day with the Kindergarten Teachers.

  • Possible Fire Drill in  the afternoon.
   

Friday

1/26

  • Read-a-thon Pajama Parties.

  • 3rd grade Tier ⅔ Meeting

  • 4th grade Tier ⅔ Meeting

  • 5th Grade Tier ⅔ Meeting

  • 5th Grade Movie Night
