TO-KNOW

  • Thank you to 3-5 teachers, and others, for doing an excellent job at the Curriculum Night on 8/29/2017. It was a late night but filled with very valuable parent contact and information. I sincerely apologize for not reserving the first row. I have made notes to myself for next year.

  • Good news. The upstairs water fountain will be replaced soon. Even better news: I am told that it may have a water bottle filler attached.

  • AIMSWeb day is coming. For your convenience I have attached the schedule for that day (Link)

Planning Calendar (Yearly Planning Calendar)

Monday

9/4

  • NO SCHOOL!

Tuesday

9/5

  • STAT Day

  • ADVISORY MEETING AFTER SCHOOL

Wednesday

9/6

  • We will have our second Fire Drill of the year some time during the day.

Thursday

9/7

  • I will be out of the building, briefly during the afternoon to meet with district office personnel.

  • IMPORTANT: The power will be shut-off from 4:00pm to 5:00pm in the entire building. Please unplug computers and turn off fans before leaving on that day. Probably not a good day to stay late and do copying.

Friday

9/8

  • Spirit Day Theme: The NFL season starts this weekend for most teams. Teachers and students are encouraged to wear clothing linked to their favorite NFL team. NO Steelers jerseys please (Just kidding).

TO-DO

  • Teachers please begin your OTES Growth plans. When you have finished please schedule a time to meet with me.

  • Please take some time to complete the following WiFi satisfaction Survey (Link)

  • Please don’t forget to continue working on your safety trainings.

  • If you have a positive news story that you would like to share let me know. You can also submit the story to Emily buckley for coverage (Link)

TO-READ

If you are inspired, perplexed, or irritated by the weekly reading I’d love to hear about it! Send me an email or grab me in the hallway. Learning never ends!

  • Here is an article entitled “Difficult Conversations” (Link).  Whether it is with a student, parent, or sometimes a colleague, we all have a difficult conversation from time-to-time. Here is an article that gives some guidance on how to make the conversation go well.

  • Question:

    • Do you think these recommendations are helpful?
