Veteran Assembly
Oak Hills High School students and staff gathered together to honor and thank local military veterans at our annual OHHS Veterans Day Assembly.

The students applauded, cheered, and waved flags and handmade signs as 215 veterans marched into the assembly. The photos and the names of the veterans appeared on monitors, students showed videos they created to honor the veterans, and stories were shared about several of the veterans in attendance. The program ended with the powerful POW/MIA Table Ceremony and the playing of ‘Taps’ by OHHS senior Cooper Bencurik. Following lunch, a group of veterans shared their experiences with our students at a Q&A panel session in the auditorium.

The assembly was a beautiful and dignified tribute to men and women who have given so much to our nation. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special, from the staff and volunteers to our amazing veterans. It was a day that makes you proud to be an American, and proud to be a Highlander. OHLSD thanks all of the veterans for their service.
