4,500-square-foot facility honors legendary OHLSD coach and administrator

Coach Shaut and alumni

On Jan. 28, Oak Hills hosted more than 50 wrestling and Matscot alumni and their families for the dedication of the Frank Shaut Wrestling Center. Due to the generosity of so many former wrestlers, Oak Hills was able to construct the 4,500-square-foot facility that will help meet the needs of our growing athletic community. A special thanks to OHHS alumnus John Maher for leading the fundraising effort.

The night was highlighted by the many former wrestlers who returned to celebrate the evening with their beloved coach. The facility includes locker rooms, two full practice mats, and will also house the Dick Roche Wall of Fame.
"Frank Shaut and Dick Roche were two of the finest educators and coaches in our rich athletic history," said Oak Hills Director of Athletics Ben Hageman. "We are grateful for the generosity that has been shown by our alumni and thrilled that we can honor Coach Shaut and Coach Roche in this way."
