Delhi Middle School teacher earns Fulbright honor
This summer, Spanish teacher Maria Fraulini will spend a month in Colombia working on a Fulbright project.
Miss Fraulini will work with a Colombian teacher in a bilingual school to develop curriculum on social-justice issues. "I'm excited to look at social justice aspects of what schools are doing in Colombia, and I'm also interested in how Colombian schools work and what we can learn from them," she says.
Miss Fraulini, who teaches Spanish language and immersion classes and is the advisor for the Spanish Club, lived in Chile during college, and has traveled, studied or worked in many other Spanish-speaking countries. "What I really love about teaching Spanish is there are so many opportunities to encounter different cultures and to learn empathy," she says.
