Highlander marching band places 4th in competition
The Oak Hills High School Marching Highlanders finished fourth in their class and sixth overall out of 25 bands at the 2017 Colerain Band Invitational on Saturday, October 28, 2017. The 140-member ensemble displayed their finest performance of the season in nearly freezing temperatures, putting an incredible exclamation point on their first season of competitive marching.
"Competitive marching is a highly demanding activity, both physically and emotionally," Kevin Sweatman, director of bands, said." Oak Hills happens to be surrounded by some of the most talented marching programs in the country, so that serves as a motivator to work harder and push ourselves beyond our limits. The Oak Hills community is so proud of what these students have accomplished over the past three months. Their tremendous amount of work, energy, time and focus has helped pave the way for some truly great things to come for Oak Hills Bands."
