A note from John Foster Dulles principal Beth Riesenberger:

John Foster Dulles Elementary School is a community in which every learner matters! Each student comes with their unique strengths and weaknesses. Through differentiated instruction, our teachers meet the needs of each learner and help each student achieve and show growth year after year!

At JFD, we celebrate inclusion and the lessons we learn from one another. Often peer relationships have the greatest impact on a student’s success and sense of belonging to a caring community. This is displayed day after day at JFD, as our students help one another learn from an academic perspective and a social-emotional perspective. The development of the whole child is our goal as a school community. This is also displayed through the phenomenal support of the JFD PTA.

This devoted association has given the community learning events such as Everybody Counts along with cultural Enrichment Days to family fun nights and seasonal celebrations! The PTA is a major component to success at JFD!

In both 2016 and 2017, the JFD school community was awarded the State of Ohio Momentum Award for continual significant student growth on the state of Ohio School Report Card. Our school was also noted as a Bronze Recognition Award Winner for Positive Behavior Intervention Support, for full and sustained implementation of our school positive behavior support system, as acknowledged by Region 13 PBIS Network in the state of Ohio.

All of these important elements are integral to the culture of excellence and continued student growth that have led to the momentous honor of being named a 2018 U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School. It is with great pride and continual drive toward learning for all, that we proudly proclaim JFD is a National Blue Ribbon school!
