OHLSD has openings for substitute teachers and substitute teachers' assistants.
Those hired as substitutes will have a choice of assignments and which days they work.
To address a substitute shortage across the state, Ohio has passed a temporary law allowing people to work as substitute teachers without holding bachelor’s degrees. Candidates are required to pass a background check and exhibit a desire and ability to work well with students.
Oak HIlls substitute teachers earn $90 per day; substitute teaching assistants earn $13.66 per hour. OHLSD hires substitutes through its partnership with Sub Solutions.
