Lis Klotz

The Office for Exceptional Children is pleased to announce the 2016 Outstanding Special Education Leadership Award winners.  Named in honor of Kathe Shelby, Director of Ohio’s Office for Exceptional Children from 2008-11, the award is presented to leaders who have demonstrated exceptional and effective skills in improving the quality of special education for Ohio’s school children and youth.

This year’s Awardees demonstrate initiative, influence and respect for children with disabilities, families and fellow educators.  The award winners are:

Amy Bixler Coffin, Autism Center Program Director at the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI).  Amy will be recognized at the OCALI Annual Conference (OCALICON) on November 16, 2016.

Lisbeth Klotz, Coordinator of Special Programs (K-8) at Oak Hills School District.  Lisbeth will be recognized at the Special Education Regional Summit in Dayton on January 19, 2017.

Please join us in congratulating both Amy and Lis for their contributions and leadership in support of the education of children with disabilities in Ohio.
