Saturday, February 16, was National Make a Blanket Day. The OHHS Majorettes had a pre-competition practice that day. Afterward, they stayed for two additional hours to make blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit organization that gives homemade blankets or new blankets to children who are in the hospital or in a shelter. They had a great time doing it and got to bond, try new things and relax their competition nerves. They donated 12 blankets. Then decided as a team to go make matching team blankets to take with them to their early morning competitions and to use on the long trips to the venues.

The blankets must have helped! The next day, Sunday, February 17, they brought home 1st place in the Dance Twirl category at the Southern Ohio United States Twirling Association contest in Trenton, Ohio.
