Our proud connection to an Honor Flight

A special week for School Resource Officer Brian Weldele, who accompanied his father on an Honor Flight to his military memorial in Washington DC.

Officer Weldele's father, Jim Weldele, is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Okinawa. Brian Weldele is a Delhi Township police officer working as an SRO at Rapid Run and Delhi middle schools and Delshire and C.O. Harrison elementary schools.

The Honor Flight recognizes veterans for their sacrifices for their country and offers them the chance -- many for the first time -- to visit their particular military memorial.

Megan Molitoris's fifth-grade class at C.O. Harrison sent letters along to recognize Mr. Weldele's service. "I hope you had a good trip to D.C.," wrote Abby Maguire. "Thank you for everything you have done to keep us happy and safe."

OHLSD adds its thanks -- to both Mr. Wedele and Officer Wedele -- for their service to our community.
