Issue 1 election results
We would like to thank all of our parents, staff, alumni and community members who voted in today’s election. On behalf of the board of education, administrative team and staff, we truly appreciate your continued support and commitment to the Oak Hills Local School District.
“Although the outcome of the election is not what we had hoped, please know that we remain committed to providing an “Excellent” educational experience with diverse learning opportunities to meet the individual needs of all students,” superintendent Jeff Brandt said. “The safety and security of our students and staff remain a top priority and we will continue to seek alternative funding options in pursuit of ensuring the safest environment possible.”
As a result of today’s election, we will not be able to employ additional school resource officers, mental health experts, security personnel or upgrade building entryways as discussed. We will continue to evaluate our financial position as we are projected to be deficit spending in the next 12 to 18 months.
“On behalf of the Oak Hills Board of Education, I would like to thank all of those who voted for Issue 1,” board president Jan Hunter said. “We are disappointed in the outcome of today’s election and will continue to evaluate our safety procedures and make decisions based upon our available resources. We will share updates on our safety plans and operating budget as difficult decisions are made.”
The district looks forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday, August 14.
