Adults can earn an OHHS diploma for free!
Oak Hills community: Did you know you can obtain a high school diploma from Oak Hills High School through our Oak Hills 22+ Adult Diploma program?
This free program is open to anyone age 22 and older who wants to obtain a high school diploma. This is not a GED. You don’t need to be district resident or have ever attended Oak Hills High School to qualify, but you must live in the state of Ohio. The length of the program depends on how many credits an individual needs to obtain in order to graduate. The program has a rolling start, so individuals interested can start at any time.
How it works:
Once we receive the individual’s transcript (or a receipt showing they ordered the transcript) we create a checklist of what’s needed and send it to the State of Ohio for approval. Once approved we give the student a study guide for the appropriate subject area. They complete the study guide either at Oak Hills or at home then come in and take a test for credit. If students score a 70 or above on the test they receive the credit and move on to the next subject until they complete all of the requirements that were in place at the time they were supposed to graduate.
What to bring:
* Transcript (or receipt of ordering the transcript)
* License (or state ID)
* Last 4 digits of Social Security number
* Proof of address within the past 60 days
Students will be required to take a reading and math evaluation and complete an enrollment packet that includes work history. If students need elective credits they can use work experience to earn elective credits.
