OHAEF's Book Bus rolls on with family engagement
Besides enjoying free books and literacy fun, families now have 'Book Buddies' who encourage family reading.
The Oak Hills Alumni & Educational Foundation has founded, funded and staffed the Book Bus to encourage children in the Oak Hills community to love reading and become better readers. It is helping build home libraries by providing free books for students. Besides weekly stops at Oak Hills elementary schools and summer reading programs, the Book Bus is now adding a parent engagement component, with a very fun kick-off dinner and literacy night at Delshire Elementary School.
