STEM trip
A group of six Oak Hills High School students recently traveled to Boston with OHHS educator Mrs. Beth Ludwig on a STEM tour.

The students learned some new and fascinating things on the trip! They started off by learning about how self-driving cars use cameras and networks to function. That pulled them into the use of AI, where they made videos and discussed the pros and cons of this technology.

The group visited the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they learned about cancer research in the Koch Center and took a campus tour. In addition, they participated in a lab focusing on gene products and then programmed a robot. They also learned how STEM was more than what they typically think of by visiting a theater and seeing all of the math and physics at work.

Besides the amazing science experiences, the students also learned about the history of Boston and our country on the Duck boat and walking tours that they took while there. They also happened to be in the city when the Scots took over Boston and were able to get a picture with a group in their kilts - such a fun experience!
