OHHS Prom Update

Posted on: April 21, 2020 6:00 pm

Dear Highlander Families,

As you know, as with so many other events and plans in this challenging spring season, the OHHS Prom scheduled for this Saturday, April 25, has been postponed. We know this is a great disappointment to our students, and we are sorry that it couldn’t have taken place as scheduled.

It is still our hope and intention to hold the Prom as soon as we are able, and to provide a special and memorable evening for our students. Highlander families have been extremely supportive and gracious about these circumstances. Thanks for understanding that Ohio’s “stay at home” order is still in place and prohibits all gatherings of more than 100 people. The risks presented by COVID-19 are still real and significant, and we will need approval from state and local health officials before moving forward with any activities.

Our plans are also dependent on decisions made by our vendors and venues. We have been in constant contact with them, and hope to soon have an alternative date and site to share with you. We realize, however, that students have been through many changes and altered plans, which take a toll emotionally. We will share plans with you as soon as possible, but only when we know they are safe, wisely made and reliable.

Meanwhile, we know that the future is bright for all our students, that life will return to normal soon and there are still great memories to be made. Thank you again for your patience and support, and please stay well. We will be back in touch as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Travis Hunt, Principal
