Report an Absence
When a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the parent to call 513-922-1485 then press 1 for the absence line before 9:45 a.m. to leave a message. It is VERY important that the student’s name, homeroom number, and reason for absence are left on the voicemail. Call the absence line in addition to any notes sent to the teacher.
Parents may request homework to be picked up in the office at 3:30p.m. if the student
is absent for more than one day.
Always send a note to the teacher on the morning of the early dismissal. Notes may be sent prior to the day of the early dismissal. Please avoid calling the office for an early dismissal to minimize disruptions to classroom activities.
Please call the absence line if your student will be arriving to school late. Students must report to the office for a pass before going to class.
When a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the parent to call the school at 513-922-1485, press 1 for attendance, before 9:45am to leave a message with the reason for the absence. When a student is tardy, he/she must report to the office to sign in and get a tardy slip before going to class.
In accordance with the 2017 adoption of Ohio House Bill 410, schools are now required to record attendance through hours rather than days.
Tardies, without exception, shall be unexcused and will be included in the tally for attendance hours.
Absences (excused or unexcused*):
Reasons for which absences may be excused include, but are not limited to: personal illness of the student, illness in the student's family, death in the family, quarantine for contagious disease, religious reasons, medical or dental appointment, or Principals make the final determination whether a student is excused or unexcused.
*When the child brings in a Doctor's note (must include specific dates), the unexcused absence is changed to excused.
