OHLSD announces Weather Plan for January 29-30
Due to extreme cold temperatures, icy roadways, and snow-covered sidewalks, Oak Hills Local Schools will operate on a remote learning plan for students in grades 6-12 for Thursday, January 29 and Friday, January 30.
Since our students in grades PreK-5 do not take home Chromebooks, this Thursday and Friday will be traditional snow days for those students and they will not utilize remote learning. We will have professional development days for teachers in the buildings so they can prepare for the return of our elementary students to the classroom next week.
Our district serves many students who walk to school. While community schools with limited busing and a higher percentage of walkers offer many strengths, these weather conditions present safety concerns for students traveling to and from our buildings. Transitioning to remote learning allows us to maintain instruction while prioritizing student safety. We anticipate everyone being back in our school buildings next week.
