Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Annabelle Hageman                       Girls' Track                        Sr.
Annabelle has been an outstanding leader for the team over the past four years. Her dedication to the sport of track and field is truly inspiring, and she consistently gives her best effort every day. Her passion for running is evident in everything she does, both in practice and in competition. At last week's Colerain Invitational, Annabelle captured the 800-meter title and helped lead the 4x800-meter relay team to victory. She is a four-year varsity athlete in track and field, cross country, and swimming. Next year, she will continue her track and cross country career at Northern Kentucky University (NKU).

Matt Doherty                        Boys' Track                         Sr.
Matt may be a first-year senior on the track team, but he runs with the heart, determination and experience of a veteran.  He is a quiet leader who inspires those around him by always leading through his actions and work ethic. Matt has been a key contributor to the 4x800-meter relay team and ranks among the top three runners on the team in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters.  At last week's Colerain Invitational, he placed second in the 3200 meters with a personal-best time, improving by 13 seconds.  He also played an important role in helping the 4x800 relay team earn a second-place finish.

Tion Starr                        Boys' Track                            Sr.
Tion has really stepped up as a senior and helped to lead his team.  He is the kind of athlete who is ready to do whatever it takes to help the squad, setting aside personal goals and comfort.  Tion is a key member of all sprint relays and the top Oak Hills 400m runner.  He was part of the school record 4x100 relay team and 1st place 4x400 relay team at the Colerain Invitational.

Mandy Gehring                 Girls' Track                       Jr.
Mandy is an extremely versatile jumper, sprinter and hurdler who excels in 7 different events.  Her ability to impact the team in so many ways means she has very busy days at track meets.  At the Colerain Invitational, she was 2nd in long jump, 1st in high jump and led off the 1st place, school record setting 4x100 relay team.

Will Elliott                     Boys' Volleyball                    Jr.
Will had a great week for Oak Hills, including 8 total blocks across the week, and over 20 kills across our 3 matches, including 11 kills in the win over Middletown!

Kaden Gnoose                   Boys' Lacrosse                    Jr.
Last week Kaden was promoted to team captain. He has put in a lot of hard work this season improving both on and off the field and is very deserving of his new position.

Brooke Hoffmeier                   Softball                        Fr.
Freshman SS Brooke Hoffmeier has been a consistent force on defense for the Highlanders. Brooke has made multiple game changing plays in games that brought big wins home. Brooke went 2/3 against Hamilton last week. On the season she’s hitting .429 scoring 23 of the team’s overall runs. With a .509 on base percentage she holds down the lead off spot. Brooke also leads in the classroom with a 4.56 GPA.

Gracie Metz                Girls' Lacrosse                Fr.
Gracie has been an essential part of our JV team this season. She is a vocal leader on our defense, and has made a lot of impressive stops when we’ve needed them most. Gracie has improved so much since the beginning of the season and we cannot wait to see what her future holds in our lacrosse program!
