Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Davide Zinoli             Boys' Tennis         Sr
In our only match this past week Davide won 1st singles in tough conditions against a strong Wyoming team.  This brought his win total to 5 on the year.  
 
Alex Marshall            Girls' Lacrosse           Soph
Alex has been one of the most positive athletes in our program this season. This past week, she had some tremendous games. Her confidence on the field has grown tremendously this season, and it showed most during the game Wednesday versus Princeton when she had an awesome goal. Alex is a great leader on and off the field, and we look forward to seeing her make a huge impact in the upcoming weeks.
 
Ben Klaserner               Boys' Track          Soph
Ben ran a big personal best in the 110 hurdles at the Ross Invite, placing 2nd.  Ben's work ethic and analytical approach to track and field are outstanding. He frequently seeks advice on what he can do to improve.  
 
Dakota Randazzo            Boys' Track                Sr
Dakota is the top high jumper for the Highlanders.  He boasts a current season best of 6'3".  At the Ross Invite on Friday, Dakota finished 2nd in the high jump competition.
 
Avery Goettke                     Girls' Track            Soph
Avery is competing in her first year of track and field.  Last week, she hit the Oak Hills varsity standard in discus.  This performance also earned her 8th place at the Ross Invitational, which was her first time placing in a varsity meet. 
 
Bri Burton                             Girls' Track               Soph
Bri was part of the school record setting 4x200 relay team on Friday at the Ross Invite.  She has been a big contributor for her team this year, running on the 4x1, 4x2 and 4x4 relays.  Her individual 100m and 200m times are also among the fastest on the team.  
 
Brenna Hackworth                   Softball                    Fr
Freshman outfielder Brenna Hackworth has been solid for the Highlanders defensively. She stepped in and took the starting spot  in 14/18 games in  right field. She has made a handful of game changing catches this season with 15 putouts, 3 assists while holding a .900 fielding pct. Brenna gets a lot of action on the right side and has really grown throughout this season. Brenna not only does her job on the field but in the classroom as well. Brenna has a 4.50 gpa. 
 
Emily Lacock                         Softball                        Fr
Freshman 2b Emily Lacock has been a solid force offensively and defensively for the Highlanders. Emily went 2/3 against Colerain last week adding a triple. Emily has scored 20 of the team's runs with16 hits on the season. She has collected 2 doubles, 2 triples and 7rbis. She has been key on defense with a .956 fielding percentage with 39 putouts and 26 assists. Emily has started in all 18 games for the Highlanders. Emily not only excels on the field but also in the classroom holding a 4.33 gpa. 
 
Eli Questa                  Baseball                        Fr
Eli Questa threw a complete game giving up 1 earned run and 4 hits in a victory over Mason and also went 2/3 in the same game.
