Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Jacob Wilson                 Boys' Tennis                         Sr.
Jacob won 3 matches at sectionals en route to the qualifying match for districts before falling to the 1 seed St. Xavier.

Ryan Linenkugel              Boys' Track                      Sr.
At his final GMC championship, Ryan shined his brightest.  He had the meet of his life anchoring the 4th place 4x400 relay in 49.8, placing 3rd in the 110m hurdles in 14.92 and 1st in 300m hurdles in 38.92.  All of his performances were lifetime best times.  Ryan led the way for the Highlanders as the top point earner at GMC.  His dedication to the team and leadership of his teammates are second to none.

Brecken Hilsinger                Boys' Track                          Fr.
Brecken is enjoying a successful freshman season.  He specializes in the 400m dash and has made a big impact already.  Brecken has earned his way onto the varsity 4x400 relay recently and at the GMC championships solidified his spot by running an outstanding leg of 52.4 on the 4th place 4x400 relay.

Maya Hill                        Girls' Track                              Jr.
Maya has experienced many ups and downs over the past couple years, but her abilities to focus and stay dedicated to track and field have served her well.  At the GMC championships, she was part of the school record 4x200 and 4x100 relay teams.  Maya also jumped a 19 inch personal best in long jump of 17'4" to earn 2nd place; the highest finish on the girls team.

Mady Linenkugel                 Girls' Track                         Jr.
Mady has risen as one of the top sprinters on an already talented team.  At the GMC championships, she was part of the school record 4x100 relay team.  She also made the final in the 200m and placed 6th in a time of 25.70.

Lilly Rice                            Softball                            Jr.
JR Outfielder Lilly Rice has played a huge role in the success of the team this season. Lilly has played in 17 games for the Highlanders. She's scored 14 runs collecting a handful of stolen bases. Lilly has recorded 4 putouts in the outfield. Lilly is as selfless as they come. She's a natural vocal leader and shows up on a daily basis and does whatever it is the team needs without complaint. Lilly is not only one of the hardest workers on the field but also within the classroom where she carries a  3.2 gpa.

Luke Wardwell                    Baseball                            Jr.
Luke was 6/7 hitting with 2-2b, 4 RBI, 3-BB, 1-HBP and 2 SB.

Wil Kraus                             Baseball                     Jr.
Wil went 8/13 with 2-2b, 1-3b, 3 RBI's, 10 runs scored, 3BB, 4 SB.

Eric Dew                         Boys' Lacrosse                         Sr.
Eric received the ABC tools scholarship as well as the Navy ROTC scholarship last week at the senior awards ceremony and graduated over the weekend. We are extremely proud of him and hope for the best in his future endeavors!
