Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Brecken Hilsinger Football Soph
Brecken was the leading scorer for our team with 9 points, kicked 2 Field goals, and 3 extra points under great pressure in our loss to Princeton. Brecken is an outstanding student, a member of S.A.L.T. (student-Athlete Leadership), and a 4 sport athlete- Football, Soccer, Basketball, and Track.
Perrion Brundidge Football Sr.
Perrion had 3 solo tackles, all were tackle for loss. He had a forced fumble, and fumble recovery in a critical time during our loss to Princeton.
Elyse Kinzie Girls' Cross Country Sr.
Elyse is a four-year cross country runner. She is a kind, positive, and supportive teammate who always brings encouragement and warmth to those around her. Elyse goes out of her way to make everyone feel included and valued. She is caring and compassionate, always looking out for others, and her genuine kindness makes her a wonderful role model. Elyse is motivated, hardworking, and consistently gives her best effort in everything she does.
Elijah Witt-Brewster Boy's Soccer Jr.
Elijah had a goal and an assist in our 2-2 draw against Middletown. Eli is our leading goal scorer this season and has made a big impact in every game this season. He has 4 goals and 1 assist on the season.
Alaina Sexton Girls' Cross Country Soph
In her first year of running cross country, Alaina has had an outstanding season, earning a varsity letter as a sophomore. She currently holds the team’s #8 fastest time with a 21:09—an impressive achievement given that she only joined the team at the beginning of August. Alaina is outgoing, upbeat, and very friendly. On runs, she encourages her teammates and even other runners they pass. She always has a smile on her face and brings positive energy to everyone she meets. Alaina is hardworking, determined, and motivated to give her best in every practice and race.
Alivia Balter Girl's Soccer Soph
Sophomore forward Alivia scored 2 goals and added an assist in a big GMC win over Middletown this past week. She's been a key part of the Highlanders' strong attack all season. Off the field, Alivia excels in the classroom, taking honors courses as well.
