Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Aleah Coster      Girls Cross Country       Junior
Aleah delivered an outstanding performance at the Regional Championships on Saturday, finishing 2nd with an impressive time of 18:07—her second-fastest of the season. Her strong, confident race helped propel the team to qualify for the state meet for the first time since 2008. Aleah continues to be a tremendous leader and role model through her hard work, consistency, and competitive spirit. This remarkable accomplishment marks her third trip to the state meet, a testament to her dedication and excellence in the sport.
 
Lucy Schutte    Girls Cross Country    Sophomore
Lucy ran an exceptional race at the Regional Championships on Saturday, placing 17th overall with an impressive time of 19:20. Her strong performance played a crucial role in helping the team qualify for the state meet for the first time since 2008. Lucy’s positivity, work ethic, and determination make her an invaluable member of the team—she brings great energy to every practice and continues to inspire those around her.
Anthony Young                 Football                    Sr.
Anthony has been a leader in every way for the defensive backs all season. In our game against Fairfield, he led the team in tackles, with 9. He also played a significant role on our special teams.
 
Jarrard Harper             Football               Jr.
Jarrard played his best game of the season against Fairfield. He had 4 tackles for loss, and played with great effort.
