Posted on: November 4, 2025 10:20 am
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Emmitt Johnson Football Jr.
Emmett rushed 16 times for 152 yards (a 9.5 yard average per rush) and 2 TD's in our playoff game vs Lakota East.
Cordell Ball Football Soph
Cordell had 6 receptions for 185 yards (30.8 yard average per catch), and 2 TD's in our playoff game vs Lakota East. Cordell is a multi-sport athlete and a member of S.A.L.T. (student Athlete Leadership).
Lincoln Schreiber Football Jr.
Lincoln threw for 288 yards, rushed for another 53 yards, and accounted for 4 TD's in our playoff game vs Lakota East. Lincoln is a 3 sport athlete, and has earned a 4.4 GPA.
Jackson Weisker Boys' Basketball Jr.
Jack has been our Student Assistant for the past 2 years. He is very committed to our Basketball program; he positively contributes in practice and during games every day. He also works an outside job as well as playing on the High School's Boys' Volleyball team. Academically, Jack has a 4.45 GPA.
Abby Huber Girls' Swimming Soph.
Abby is a multi-sport student-athlete, excelling at most of what she does. She is currently ranked top 150 for the class of 2028 in the state of Ohio. During her freshman year, she was an individual champion at the OHSAA sectional meet in the state tournament, placing first in the 100 backstroke. Abby looks to have another shot at the state tournament this season, and with her work put in during the off-season, it is looking like it will be an exceptional run.
Mason Altman Boys' Swimming Sr.
Mason has been leading the swim team since middle school, being the captain then and being team captain as a junior last year. He is the epitome of a dedicated student-athlete and effective leader with a 4.84 GPA. Leading school events, being involved in service outside of school, and still showing up to every practice only to leave it all in the pool. Mason is juggling all of this while applying to the Naval Academy- a college application process that requires much detail and attention.
Leah Maly Girl's Bowling Jr.
Junior Leah Maly has been working hard in the off season to prepare for the 2025-2026 bowling season. Between the fall league and practices, she is primed to start the year off right. Recently, she rolled a new personal best high game of 217, and has already looked more consistent and accurate than at the end of her Sophomore year. We're very excited to watch her continue her progress on the Varsity A team!
