Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Wyatt Dennison Academic Team Sr.
Wyatt is new to the Academic Quiz Team this year, but has already made a positive impact! He has worked hard and is preparing to help our team have a successful season!
Ella Weinmann Girls' Bowling Sr
Senior Ella Weinmann is nominated for GMC athlete of the week in back-to-back weeks, as she was also the individual tournament champion in back-to-back weeks. Yet again, Ella turned in an outstanding performance this past weekend at the Holiday Classic at Western Bowl. Ella led the entire field of bowlers with an outstanding 2-game series of 468 pins! Ella also led the Varsity A team this week in both matches against Mason and Colerain to help the Lady Highlanders improve to 3-1 on the season and remain undefeated in the GMC! Ella currently leads the GMC with an average of 197.1 pins per game.
AJ Dean Boys' Basketball Sr.
AJ has adapted well to a new system and a new program in his senior year. He has been a main ball handler and scorer for the team early in its early season. In addition, he has improved defensively as he has taken on some tough defensive assignments.
Cordell Ball Boys' Basketball Soph
In our last 2 game, Cordell has scored 47 points and most importantly had 30 rebounds. Cordell excelled as a wide receiver for the Football team as well, and he is a member of SALT (Student Athlete Leadership Team).
Roman Florimonte Boys' Bowling Fr.
In his first season Roman made the varsity team and is currently top 20 in the GMC. He continues to learn and improve every match and practice and even rolled his first 400 series against Colerain last week.
Rhianna Riep Girls' Basketball Sr.
Rhianna scored 8 points, including the game winning free throw with 6.5 seconds to go to beat Colerain. Rhianna is a 3-year Varsity letter winner and one of the leaders of our team. Her impact doesn't always show up in the stat sheet, but the team knows how important she is to our program. Rhianna has a 3.74 GPA and is taking multiple CCP classes at Cincinnati St.
August Foland Boys' Swimming Sr.
August was a pivotal swimmer in securing second place at the best of the west meet. August went two personal best times to get two individual bronze medals and was part of two silver medal relays. He earned 24 points, tying for second highest scorer on the men’s side. August has also been a student assistant for the Freshman and Sophomore SALT leadership teams.
Lillian Foland Girls' Swimming Soph.
Lily was tied for the women’s leading point scorer at the annual Best of the West meet. Earning three silver and one bronze medal, she posted lifetime and season bests. Lilian is also a member of the sophomore SALT Leadership team.
