Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Dearris Foster Boys' Basketball Sr.
Over the past week, Deairris has helped the Varsity prepare for tournament play. And as he helped the Varsity prepare, he has prepared himself as well. Thanks to Deairius for being a great teammate and positive role model for others in the program.
Anna Shattuck Girls' Bowling Soph.
At the 2026 SW Districts Tournament on Thursday, it was a day for the Oak Hills Girls Bowling Varsity A Sophomores to truly shine! Sophomore Anna Shattuck led the team to their first state championship appearance in 20 years, rolling a team leading series of 544 pins; averaging more than 181 pins per game. For the second year in a row, Anna earned a spot on the GMC 1st team All-Conference, finishing 7th overall individually with an average of 168.3 pins per game.
Isla McMahan Girls' Wrestling Fr.
Isla qualified to the OHSAA District tournament as a Freshman and helped lead Oak Hills to a runner-up finish at Sectionals!
Isabelle Barkley Girls' Wrestling Sr.
Isabell took third Place at sectionals and punched her ticket to OHSAA District tournament helping Oak Hills secure second place at the sectionals tournament. Oak Hills had the most girls qualify to the district tournament.
Mary Bacon Girls' Bowling Soph.
At the 2026 SW Districts Tournament on Thursday, it was a day for the Oak Hills Girls Bowling Varsity A Sophomores to truly shine! Sophomore Mary Bacon helped propel the team to their first appearance at the OHSAA State Championships in 20 years, by rolling the second highest series of the day of 543 pins. In her 2nd year on the team, Mary finished 10th overall in the GMC with an average of 162.8 pins per game, and earned a spot on the GMC 2nd team All-Conference.
Jason Eby Boys' Bowling Sr
Jason qualified for districts this season as an individual with his teammate George. Jason has had a terrific season as he finished top 25 in the GMC and won the Steve Shuck sportsmanship award.
George Gigous Boys' Bowling Sr.
George also qualified as an individual for districts alongside his teammate Jason. At districts George finished his high school career with a 607 series.George finished top 15 in average in the GMC and was named a GMC first team member.
