Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Calvin Becknell                 Boys' Lacrosse                  Soph.
Calvin had 25 saves in a win against Springboro last week.
 
Sasha Emmrich                   Girls' Softball                       Jr.
Sasha has been a consistent leader both on and off the field this season for the Highlanders. Sasha started off this season on fire. Opening weekend Sasha hit .500 hitting her first homerun that sparked the offense for the come back/ walk- off win against returning state champs, Tri Village. She collected her first three hits of the season, scored a run and had 2 rbis. Sasha also caught both of the games. Sasha is not only a standout on the softball field but is a member of NHS. 
 
Maya Abbott                    Girls' Lacrosse                     Soph.
Maya made her varsity debut as a freshman this past Saturday against Anderson, an opportunity she earned through her hard work, dedication, and positive attitude as a member of the JV squad. Maya is a multi-sport athlete, also competing in Girls' Tennis and Girls' Swimming and Diving. She participates in club swim and club lacrosse outside of Oak Hills. She is also involved in orchestra at the high school. Maya represents what it means to be a well-rounded student-athlete, and her coaches look forward to her continued growth.
 
August Foland               Boys' Volleyball                     Sr.
August has stepped up for us as our starting Libero this season,  and had a great start to the season including a 32 dig game in our match vs Turpin!
 
Ryan Murphy                    Baseball                        Jr.
Ryan is ready to follow up an outstanding sophomore season (2nd team GMC) with an even better junior year.  His hard work has provided him an opportunity to play at the next level.  Over the winter he committed to the University of Cincinnati. With recruitment over he’s ready to focus on the 2026 season.
