Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Posted on: April 7, 2026 9:00 am
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Aleah Coster Girls' Track Jr.
Aleah has had an outstanding start to her season and continues to show why she is one of the top distance runners in the state. At the Ross All-Comers Meet, Aleah won all three of the events she ran—the 1600 and 800—and stepped in to run the 4x400 relay, an event she doesn’t normally run. Her willingness to take on that challenge helped secure the team title and demonstrated her commitment to the team. At the first meet of the year, Aleah won the 3200 meters, running a personal best time, and is currently ranked #4 in the state in that event. Beyond her performances, Aleah has been a tremendous leader for the team. She leads by example every day with her work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to support her teammates in any role needed. Her leadership and team-first mindset have made a major impact already this season, and we are excited to see what she continues to accomplish.
Jacob Wetenkamp Boys' Track Soph.
Jacob earned his first 1st place finish in a varsity meet at the Ross All-Comers meet by running a personal best in the 110m hurdles. He followed that up with another lifetime best in the 300m hurdles, finishing 3rd place in that event.
Kelsee Schuehler Softball Fr.
3b Kelsee Schuehler had a hot weekend for the Highlanders. Kelsee went 3 for 3 against Little Miami which included the base clearing walk-off to clench the win in the 8th. She also went 1 for 2 against Lebanon earlier in the day. Kelsee also leads in the classroom with a 4.47 gpa.
Logan Peterson Boys' Lacrosse Sr.
Logan surpassed 100 career points on Saturday in our win at Summit Country Day. In our 3 games over spring break he accumulated 11 total points.
Mitchell Weldele Baseball Jr.
Mitchell had his first varsity start and picked up the win, throwing 5 innings of 2 hit, 0 run baseball, striking out 4 in the win over previously undefeated Fairborn 8-0.
Alex See Girls' Lacrosse Jr.
Alex had an impressive week against Mason and Lakota East, recording 12 saves against Mason and 11 against Lakota East. She also reached a major milestone with her 150th career save in the Mason game. Alex currently ranks third in the GMC with 50 saves this season.
