The Ripple Effect of Teaching: Generations of Creativity

Gracing the cover (pun intended) is recent '25 OHHS graduate Grace Gray, who is now pursuing a career in the arts at the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning..Former OHHS Art and Design student, Alyssa McRoberts ('20) now carries the torch as an art educator, and shares insights from her first year of teaching in an article she wrote for the publication: 'You Want Me to Draw What?!: How My First Year in the Art Room Shaped Year Two'. OHHS Art and Design teacher, Jamie Schorsch, who was just one of the many teachers in the department that helped guide these aspiring artists and educators along their path, is also featured in two articles she wrote about her recent experience with the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program and the impact of her art teacher from Walnut Hills High School, Wylie Ferguson, in shaping her path towards a career in the art field. Their successes are a testament to the lasting impact of teachers who nurture creativity and empower students to leave their own mark on the world.
