OHLSD Bond Issue on November 2025 ballot to build three new schools

The Oak Hills Local School District Board of Education has approved placing a bond issue on the upcoming November 2025 ballot to fund a two-phase facilities improvement plan that includes the construction of three new schools and essential infrastructure upgrades throughout the district with an unprecedented zero tax increase to residents.
Phase 1 of the plan will focus on building two new schools—Springmyer Elementary and Delhi Middle School—to replace the two oldest existing buildings. In addition, funds from Phase 1 will be used to install air conditioning at Oak Hills High School, improving the learning environment for over 2,500 students. The district is also exploring the possibility of bringing air conditioning to Bridgetown Middle School as part of this initial phase, depending on project costs and available funding.
Phase 2 will complete the plan with the construction of a new Bridgetown Middle School, further advancing the district’s long-term vision for modern, efficient, and student-centered learning spaces.
“This bond issue is about more than bricks and mortar—it’s about preparing our students for the future," said Superintendent Dan Beckenhaupt. "By investing in modern facilities, we can ensure that we are providing the best learning environment for all students and staff. These upgrades will allow us to meet the changing educational and technological demands of our students, and can be done with a zero tax increase based on what our residents currently pay."
The Board’s decision follows extensive input from community forums, facility assessments, and long-term planning discussions. Many of the district’s current buildings were constructed decades ago and face costly maintenance and operational inefficiencies. By replacing outdated structures with modern facilities, the district can better serve students and staff while being fiscally responsible to taxpayers over time.
The zero tax increase stems from the 1997 Rapid Run Middle School Bond Millage which expires at the end of 2025. Residents of the school district would see a ZERO NET INCREASE in their current tax rate as of today if they approve the new bond issue in November.
