Celebrating Our State-Bound Highlander Cross Country Athletes – OHSAA Championships This Saturday

Posted on: November 6, 2026 10:00 am

We are proud to celebrate three exceptional student-athletes from Oak Hills High School who have earned the opportunity to compete at the OHSAA Cross Country State Championships this Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Fortress Obetz & Memorial Park in Obetz, Ohio.

Qualifying for the state meet is a significant achievement that reflects dedication, discipline, and excellence both on the course and in the classroom. Please join us in congratulating:

Senior Aleah Coster
Aleah is competing in her fourth OHSAA State Championship. She placed fourth at regionals, won the Greater Miami Conference (GMC) Championship, and was named GMC Athlete of the Year. She won five of her nine races this season (and finished second in another), and her personal best of 17:55 ranks second all-time in Oak Hills history. Aleah leads by example every day and sets a high standard for her teammates.

Junior Lucy Schutte
Lucy has qualified for the state championships for the second time. She placed 27th at regionals, finished third at the GMC Championships, and earned First Team All-GMC honors. Her personal best of 18:50 ranks sixth on the Oak Hills all-time list. Lucy is a kind, caring teammate who consistently brings out the best in those around her.

Junior Owen Huff
Owen has earned his second trip to the state meet. He is the GMC Champion after a thrilling finish in which he outkicked two competitors in the final straightaway to win by less than a second. His consistency and competitive fire have made him a standout for the Highlanders.
