Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Brianne Graves           Girls' Wrestling           Sr.
Bri took Second at the OHSAA State Tournament in the 100lb weight class. She is also nationally ranked, currently 14th in the country.
 
McKenzie Marcum     Softball      Soph.
Coming into tryouts this season McKenzie was the most improved player to come back from last season. She spent tireless hours improving her game and perfecting her fundamentals. Her countless training hours have paid off as she’s a floater between JV/varsity & she’s JVs team captain. Her daily hard work never goes unnoticed.   
 
Caleb Shreve            Baseball                              Sr.
Caleb is a two year Varsity pitcher with a strong work ethic. He is a great teammate and has worked extremely hard in our pre-season workouts. He has a 4.0 GPA, taking Honors and AP classes. Caleb is a 4 year Academic O recipient and will graduate with highest honors. He has also participated in the symphony orchestra for the last three years. Caleb is committed to playing baseball at Hiram College next fall.
 
Jimmy Steinriede      Boys' Volleyball       Jr.
Jimmy opened up the season with 2 great performances versus Edgewood and Lebanon. Opened the season with 32 kills, 4 blocks and 2 service aces, Jimmy helped the Highlanders secure the first win of the season versus Lebanon 
 
Garrett Kessling             Boys' Lacrosse                   Sr.
Garrett has been an incredible leader this season for the Highlander's lacrosse team. He currently holds a 4.0 GPA and is a team captain.
 
Emma Mihuta               Girls' Lacrosse                     Soph
Emma shows up every day with a positive attitude and a drive to better herself and others. She is always ready to work, and we are excited to see her exceed this season! An amazing start, Emma!
