Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Samantha Getz              Girls' Track                   Jr.
Samantha has put together an incredible season and delivered a standout performance at the Ross Invitational on Friday night, helping lead her team to a meet championship. She ran a personal-best 2:22 split in the 4x800 to help her team finish 2nd, placed 4th in the 400, and had the fastest split on the winning 4x400 team. Samantha continues to show impressive strength and steady improvement as the season progresses.
 
Sam Dew                    Boys' Track                 Soph.
Sam put together three strong races on Friday night, helping lead his team to an overall meet victory. He ran a personal-best 2:06 split in the 4x800 to help his team finish 2nd, placed 5th in the open 800, and was part of the winning 4x400 relay. Sam has been extremely focused and determined this season, and it’s clearly showing in his performances.
 
Erian Davis               Girls' Lacrosse                      Fr.
Erian has been a defensive leader all season as a junior varsity team captain. She anchored the defense in last week’s game against Fairfield. Earlier this season, she contributed to the varsity team’s win over Miamisburg with a caused turnover. As the season comes to a close, she continues to set the tone on the defensive end through her effort and leadership.
 
Cooper Sweet              Baseball                      Jr.
Cooper went 2/4 on the week and had a big 2 out hit scoring 2 runs vs Lakota West.
 
Ben Wood               Boys' Lacrosse                 Sr.
Ben scored his first 2 Varsity goals on Senior night against Fairfield.
 
Emily Lacock               Softball                 Soph
Sophomore 2b and 2 hole hitter, Emily Lacock went 4/4 against Colerain adding a homerun, 2b and 2 singles. Against Lakota West she went 1/3 with a single and added 2 walks. Emily has been solid on offense but is also a defensive threat. She added 5 put outs and 2 assists in the 2 games. Emily not only excels on the field but in the classroom as well. She was just added to the NHS and has a 4.42 gpa.
