Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Briana Burton Girls' Track Jr.
Bri, who specializes in the 100m and 200m, has been an integral part of our successful 4x100m and 4x200m relays. She has established herself as one of the most reliable members of our team who we can always count on. At the Best of the West invite, she was part of the 2nd place 4x100 and 1st place 4x200 teams. Bri also placed 4th in the 200m dash.
Anquan Evans Boys' Track Jr.
Anquan is competing in track and field for the first time this year and has been an amazing addition to our team. He has picked up on sprint relays very quickly and risen as one of our top sprinters. He always brings positive energy and is happy to do whatever the team needs. At the Best of the West invite, he was part of the 2nd place 4x100m and 4x200m relays as well as 2nd in the 200m dash.
Addy Heimbrock Softball Jr.
Catcher Addy Heimbrock has played in 16 games as a catcher, pinch hitter. Addy went 1-2 against Princeton last week with a walk. She's hitting .375 with a double, 4bb, a .464 obp and .417slg. In the league alone she is hitting .391. Addy is always ready and willing to do what the team needs. She's always making sure pitchers are ready and plays an active role both on the field and off. Addy also leads in the classroom with a 3.85 gpa.
Zoe Schaible Softball Fr.
Outfielder Zoe Schaible is hitting .400 in league games with a .400 OBP and .400slg. Zoe has played in 15 games for the Highlanders with 4 stolen bases. Throughout the season Zoe has played in the outfield, hit and ran for the team as needed. Zoe is always team first, works hard, is always actively learning and finding ways to get better. Zoe also leads in the classroom with a 4.59 gpa.
Jacob Weller Boys' Volleyball Sr.
Jacob is a senior captain for us, who has turned in an excellent last week, with 15 kills and 16 digs vs Wyoming!
Jamie Mushrush Girls' Lacrosse Soph
Jamie has been a key swing player all season, serving as a JV team captain while leading by example at the varsity level. She played an important role in the team’s four-game win streak against Fairfield, Notre Dame Academy, Mercy McAuley, and Tipp City. This season, she has recorded 5 goals, 1 assist, 12 ground balls, 22 draw controls, and 5 caused turnovers at the varsity level.
