Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
Lexi Holzbacher                Girls' Golf                 Sr.
Lexi earned 1st team all-GMC at our conference tournament, 1st place individual at the Best of the West tourney and qualified for Districts (state semi-finals) at our Sectionals tourney! She has qualified for Districts 3 of her 4 years playing for Oak Hills!
 
Dixie Brogan             Girls' Golf                Jr.
Dixie made first team all-GMC at our conference tourney and qualified for Districts (state semi-finals) at our Sectionals tournament!
 
Ethan Hobbs              Boys' Soccer              Jr.
Ethan scored 2 goals in the 4-3 win against Princeton. Ethan now has 4 goals on the season, he has been a great captain this year leading the team! He looks to continue on his performance this week
 
Anquan Evans             Football                   Sr.
Anquan had 22 carries for 154 yards (7 yds/carry) and 3 touchdowns in the game vs Colerain. Anquan also set key blocks that allowed for our team to have big returns on special teams. Anquan has been a positive leader for our team both verbally and by example.
 
Joseph Getz                Boy's Cross Country                  Sr.
At the Sycamore Stoneberger Invitational, Joseph ran a 17:46, one second off of his PR. Joseph has been very consistent in his meet results this season and has continued to improve. Joseph is a pivotal part of the team and its success. 
 
Alivia Balter                   Girls' Soccer                    Jr.
Alivia, a junior forward, had a huge week offensively for the Highlanders, tallying 4 goals and 3 assists in just 2 games. Her ability to finish opportunities and create chances for her teammates has been a huge asset for the Highlanders all season long and last week was another great example of her offensive impact.
 
Zeina Masri                Girls' Tennis                Soph
Zeina and her partner Reilly Murphy helped secure a 3rd place finish in the GMC tournament this past weekend. This year, Zeina has floated between doubles and singles as she had a 9-8 overall record. Zeina and Reilly earned second place at the coaches classic with wins over Country Day and Ursuline. Outside of tennis Zeina carries a 3.52 GPA while also being a member of the Cincinnati Commerce Youth Leadership Retreat. 
 
Maryn Osterfeld                  Girls' Cross Country               Jr
Maryn placed 29th out of 292 runners at last week’s Sycamore Invitational, running a season-best time just two seconds shy of her personal best. Over the past three years, she has worked hard to become a stronger, more consistent runner. Maryn never complains, gives her best effort every day, and sets a great example for her teammates.
 
Evey Rhodes                  Girls' Cross Country             Fr
Evey ran an outstanding race at last week’s Sycamore Invitational, placing 30th out of 292 runners. She improved her time by more than a minute and ran a personal best of 21:18. Evey has made great progress in her races over the past few weeks and has really stepped up her effort at practice. We’re excited to see how much more she improves throughout the rest of the season!
 
Jenna Stoffran                Girls' Volleyball                     Jr.
Jenna had an amazing week earning 31 kills, 8 digs, 3 blocks and passed a 1.82. She has really stepped up for the team in her role as an outside hitter.
