Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Maria Thibodeaux        Fr.       Girls' Swimming
Maria Thibodeaux is one of a number of talented freshmen that has committed to the most challenging swimming events, the 500 free and 100 fly. She works hard and has contributed greatly to the team's success.
Gavin Schulze          Sr.           Boys Swimming
Gavin Schulze is our boy's team captain. He leads by example, working hard to not only improve his own times, but those around him. His positive influence is felt by all members of the team. Gavin is a top performer in the GMC and is hopeful to lead the team relays to the state meet.
Christian Neyer         Sr.             Wrestling
Christian had an outstanding performance at the Middletown Pool Invite. He finished the tournament by taking 1st place and dominating his opponents. 
Anna Thomas              Jr.               Girls' Basketball
Anna, a junior guard and team captain, scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, recorded 3 assists and 3 steals in a win over Turpin last week and followed that up by coming off the bench against Mason and registering a season-high of five steals against the Comets. She is third in the GMC in steals per game with 2.9 and is the second leading scorer on the team at 11 points per game. Anna is also the starting goalie on the varsity soccer team and carries a 4.0 GPA.
Kelen Dietrich            Sr              Boys' Basketball
Kelen scored 23 points, had 2 assists and 2 steals in a GMC road victory this past Friday at Lakota West. Kelen is a senior captain who is active in National Honor Society, community service and has a 3,95 GPA. 
Cam Brandt              Sr.             Boys' Basketball
Cam scored 11 points in the recent road GMC win at Lakota West. He also had 5 rebounds and 7 assists. In addition, Cam scored the winning basket as the buzzer sounded in the thrilling 65-63 victory. Cam is a multi-sport athlete (baseball) who is active in community service and FCA. He has a 3.5 GPA.
