Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to our Highlander athletes who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!
Owen King          Sr.     Boys' Bowling
Owen rolled a 592 series at Sectionals that also helped the boys bowling team advance to Districts on Feb 27th at Beaver-vu bowl. Owen is currently averaging just under 204 this season.  
Becca Jones             Sr.       Girls' Bowling
Becca led the girls' bowling team at the Sectionals Tournament. While the team placed 8th missing the cut for Districts, Becca and Paige both advanced as individuals.  
Paige Mettey             Sr.      Girls' Bowling
Paige led the girls' bowling team at the Sectionals Tournament. While the team placed 8th missing the cut for Districts, Becca and Paige both advanced as individuals.  
Zach Taphorn          Jr.     Boys' Bowling
Zach rolled a 541 series at Sectionals to help the boys bowling team advance to Districts on Feb 27th. Zach has been improving slowly over the season and became a solid bowler and teammate who can always be counted on.

Wyatt Ferguson is your 170 lb. GMC Champion!  
Brandon Mitchell          Soph        Wrestling
Brandon Mitchell is your 106 lb. GMC Champion!  
Nathan Sexton          Sr.     Boys' Bowling
Nathan rolled a 655 series at Sectionals to help the boys bowling team finish 5th, and advance to Districts on Feb 27th at Beaver-Bowl. Nathan is currently averaging just under 214 this season.  
Dy'Jhanik Armfield        Sr.          Girls' Basketball
The senior guard and captain scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and had 3 steals in the sectional tournament loss to Edgewood. Dy finished the regular season second in the GMC in scoring with 18.6 per game, and led the GMC in assists (3.4 per game) and steals (4.0) per game. She was also 12th in field goal percentage and finished her high school career with 1368 points scored as a varsity player.  
Cam Brandt       Sr.     Boys' Basketball
Cam, a senior tri-captain, completed a very successful career in Boys' Basketball. He contributed greatly to our program, not only on the court but off the court. His character, work ethic and unselfishness leave a strong legacy for future Highlanders to follow.
 Kelen Dietrich        Sr.        Boys' Basketball
Kelen, a senior tri-captain, completed a very successful career in Boys' Basketball. He contributed greatly to our program, not only on the court but off the court. His character, work ethic and unselfishness leave a strong legacy for future Highlanders to follow.  
Tanner Murphy          Sr.        Boys' Basketball
Tanner, a senior tri-captain, completed a very successful career in Boys' Basketball. He contributed greatly to our program, not only on the court but off the court. His character, work ethic and unselfishness leave a strong legacy for future Highlanders to follow.  
Michael Witt             Sr.            Boys' Basketball
Michael completed a very successful career in Boys' Basketball as a Student Assistant. He contributed greatly to our program, not only on the court but off the court. Rarely will a young person so unselfishly give up his free time to help others without the recognition of a uniform or playing time. He follows his older brother John's footsteps, as he will continue serving others as a Xavier Men's Basketball Student Assistant next year.  His character, work ethic and giving attitude leave a strong legacy for future Highlanders to follow.
