Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week
Congratulations to the following Highlanders for being named GMC Athletes of the Week!
 
A.J. Kontsis          Boys' Golf    Sr.
Senior Captain AJ Kontsis led the Highlanders last week with a top ten finish 74 at the Beechwood Inv. He was also medalist 75 in a GMC Tri-Match victory over Fairfield & Lakota West.
 
Meredith Stein       Girls' Cross Country       Sr.
Meredith is a four year CC runner. She has been an incredible team leader this summer. She is always encouraging and motivating other athletes to do their best. She works hard and leads her teammates with a positive voice. She has a 4.0 GPA and is ranked #9 in her class.
 
Abigail Miller       Girls' Tennis         Sr.
Senior captain Abigail Miller and her doubles partner, Kiera Silver, opened up the season with wins over Kings, Fairfield, Turpin, and Anderson. Abigail carries a 4.0 GPA while taking mostly all AP classes. She is also a member of NHS, French Honor Society, youth group, and student leadership board. Abigail plans on attending college next year and getting a degree in urban planning or environmental policy.   
 
Taidan Fox       Boys' Soccer              Sr. 
Taidan has made great strides over the past year, working hard and preparing himself for our upcoming season. His preparation was rewarded by being voted captain by his teammates. He earned this opportunity by becoming one who leads via a great work ethic, pushing his teammates to get the best out of themselves, and becoming a vocal leader on the field. This is Taidan's third year as a member of the Varsity.  
 
Paige Kuerze          Girls' Soccer              Sr.
Paige, a true team player, has accepted a new role for the Girls Varsity Soccer team. Last year she was a forward on Varsity, and this year she will be an outside back for the Highlander backline. Paige has been putting in the time and effort to understand the position. She has logged in hours of film review and has studied the new position to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible. Paige also excels in the classroom as she is Ranked 21 out of 588. She is in all AP courses, Honors classes and even taking college credits at The University of Cincinnati. She holds a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Kate Nemann Girls' Volleyball Sr.
Kate has continued to be a strong force in the middle for us. She has worked very hard during the offseason to build strength. The program looks to Kate for positive influence and we are glad she is on our team!
