Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who have been named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Grace Borton      Softball           Soph
Grace Borton had been solid for the Highlanders in many different roles. She’s currently hitting .357. When she’s not making diving catches in right field she’s swiping bases and scoring runs as our designated runner. Grace has 16 stolen bases on the season. Grace has been a selfless role player throughout the team's successful season. She not only excels on the field but also in the classroom. Grace was just inducted into the National Honor Society.

Julia Hageman Girls' Track Soph
Julia won the 800m at the Best of the West invitational with a huge personal best. She led the race from the start and never yielded to her competitors. In the final 50m of the race, two of the other racers caught up to Julia with the intention of passing her. However, Julia was ready and unleashed a strong finishing kick to win by a convincing margin.

Aiden Keith            Boys' Track             Sr
Aiden was a part of 4 scoring events at the Best of the West Invitational, two of which earned 1st place finishes. In the high hurdles, Aiden came from behind to win in a huge personal best time. In the 4x400m, Aiden ran the first leg of the relay team that is now ranked #1 in the GMC.

Johnathan Whittamore    Boys' Lacrosse   Sr
Johnathan showed his scoring capabilities this week with multiple goals in a win against McNicholas and a goal in a loss against Lakota West.  Johnathan is a senior leader who will be playing lacrosse next year for the University of the Cumberlands.
