Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who have been named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Morgan White            Boys' Cross Country             Soph
Morgan ran a personal best for the second week in a row. At the Milford invite, he was one of the only guys on our team to do so, due to the less than ideal conditions. Morgan has stepped up and become a key member of our varsity squad this season. It is through his determination and goal setting that he has managed to do this as a sophomore.

Eve Troutwine              Girls' Cross Country                 Fr
Eve placed as the team's #4 runner this past weekend to help her team to a 5th place finish out of 22 teams at the Milford Invitational. She has been faster in each of the four races the team has competed in so far, dropping over one minute and twenty seconds since the beginning of the season. She is also a part of the select choir ensemble Uncommon Time, as well as an ensemble member of the school's fall play.

Stephanie Miller Girls' Soccer Sr
This past week against Mason, Stephanie, a two-year varsity player played a vital part in the midfield. She anchored the midfield, by getting forward in the attack and distributing with the forwards. When she wasn't in the attack she did a great job transitioning back and defending for the team. Stephanie is a strong academic performer too, taking several honors courses and one college-level course.

Sophia Marsala         Girls' Tennis                Sr.
Senior Sophia Marsala is currently 9-5 on the season with various doubles partners. This past week she lost in a tough, competitive match vs. St. Ursula with junior Avery King. Sophia maintains a 4.0 GPA while being involved in National Honor Society, the National French Honor Society, and also competes as a member of the track & field team. After high school, Sophia plans on going to college and becoming a nurse.

Cora Mundstock Girls' Golf Soph
Cora is an improving golfer who works hard and has an amazing attitude and work ethic. Her hard work paid off with an EAGLE at Woodland Golf Course last week in a match against Seton. She is consistently golfing at a high level, leading the JV team as team medalist in nearly all matches this year.
