Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to our Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Brady Sabin    Boys' Bowling          Fr
Brady rolled a 628 series at the OHSAA sectionals that helped the boys team finish 6th and qualify for districts.
 
Keith McCalla Boys' Bowling Jr
Keith rolled a 616 series at the OHSAA sectionals which helped the boys finish 6th and qualify for districts.   
 
Mason Bencurik          Boys' Swimming        Sr
Mason is a 4 year varsity swimmer and an exemplary student-athlete. Mason is a National Merit Scholar. He swam the 100 Free at state finishing 10th. He broke his own 200 Free record with a 1:40.60 to finish 7th at state. Next year, Mason plans on swimming and studying at Case Western.
 
Elena McBride Girls' Bowling Jr
Elena had an outstanding day at the Girls Bowling Sectionals Tournament last Thursday. She rolled a series of 483, for a 161 average, the second highest on the team and the 27th highest overall individual series of the tournament! Elena's series helped the Highlanders advance to the Districts Tournament this week.  
 
Avery King         Girls' Bowling              Jr
Avery had a wonderful day at the Girls Bowling Sectionals Tournament last Thursday. She rolled a series of 544, for a 181 average, the highest on the team and the 14th highest overall individual series of the tournament! Avery's series helped the Highlanders advance to the Districts Tournament this week.  
 
Drew Scherra            Boys' Basketball          Sr
Drew, a multi-sport athlete, provided strong, positive leadership during his senior year. Though the team struggled with their record, Drew was positive and supportive of all the young men in the program. His senior leadership will be missed and is much appreciated!
 
Sam Weidner           Boys' Basketball              Sr
Sam, a multi-sport athlete, provided strong, positive leadership during his senior year. Though the team struggled with their record, Sam was positive and supportive of all the young men in the program. His senior leadership will be missed and is much appreciated!
 
Devin Roper           Boys' Basketball          Sr
Devin, a multi-sport athlete, provided strong, positive leadership during his senior year. Though the team struggled with their record, Devin was positive and supportive of all the young men in the program. His senior leadership will be missed and is much appreciated!
