Highlander GMC Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

 
Alex Taft        Boys' Cross Country     Sr
Alex has been a varsity athlete on our team for 4 years now. His contributions to our squad have been numerous, both performance and leadership wise. Alex led the way for the Highlanders at Centerville Saturday Night Lights and helped the team to an 8th place finish out of 31 teams.
 
Gabrielle Kadakia Girls' Tennis Sr
Senior Gabrielle Kadakia got runner-up at the GMC tournament this past week. Gabrielle was the first person in school history to make it to the championship match of second singles. Gabrielle has won 79 total matches throughout her four years on varsity, which is the most wins since Oak Hills joined the GMC.  
 
Presley Pennekamp            Girls' Soccer           Soph
Presley recorded 5 goals and 3 assists this past week in 2 games. Presley currently leads the GMC in Goals (16), Points (40) and 2nd in assists (8). Presley also takes 4 honors classes. 
 
Paige Stockhoff           Girls' Volleyball              Jr
Paige had 17 assists against West Clermont, 14 assists against Talawanda and 19 assists against Middletown, with 14 aces total.
 
Grace Scheckel Girls' Golf Sr
Grace is a 3rd year varsity Senior who has improved her average by 7 points over her time on varsity. She is a 4.0 student in honors & AP classes & in the top 10% of her class. She's a leader & keeps the team calm & laughing to make golf enjoyable for all. Last week, she shot her personal best at BelWood Country Club to place as the 2nd place individual in the match.   
 
Kellee Shay             Girls' Cross Country          Jr
Kellee won the Open race at the Centerville Night Lights meet on Saturday. The lead gator went the wrong way causing Kellee to lose her lead and she ended up running 200 meters out of the way. Despite that, Kellee persevered to come back and still win the race!
